I'm looking for a good pedometer to purchase for students of a K-8. We have 260 students in our school and are implementing a program that would at least initially involve about 50 students at a time. Our goal is to increase activity of our control group during academic times in 10 minute increments, 3 times each school day.

Yamax Digi-walker SW 651 looks like a good option for varied activity levels and also a good mid price. It also has to be durable, which is a big concern for us.

Am I on the right track or can you think of a better option? Thanks for your expertise. Robin Caceres, Decatur IL

A pedometer that motivates you? What an awesome concept! This would make a great present to someone that's new to exercising and needs that extra "push" to keep them motivated and on the right track.
