One of the things that I like about this GoWalking SportLine Pedometer is that it small, and is so easy to set up and begin using. All you have to do is pull the battery protector tab off of the back, peel off the plastic film that is covering the display screen and determine if you want the Distance Mode to display in miles or kilometers and set it accordingly. Pretty easy to do it even if you are walking at the time you decide to make the changes
The next thing you need to do is to determine your stride length and set that into the pedometer. The package gives detailed instructions on performing this simple task. Clip the pedometer to your belt or waistband and you’re ready to go. I like to clip it on to the top of my sock, it just seems like I would get a more accurate reading that way and it is more comfortable than on my waistband. (I guess it depends where you want to use the pedometer, but for me the GoWalking Sportline Pedometer is much better to use in a waistband, specially if you go running.
I must say setting the stride was simple and being able to change modes and see how many steps, I guess that’s why I like so much the GoWalking SportLine Pedometer, let me make this clear regarding this pedometer, i have use many pedometers before but I think this one has something really unique I’d taken and how many miles it was, really fascinates me. I find many boost from assuring the steps add up and by course I began tracking my steps so I could see my progress.
The viewing liquid crystal display viewing screen on this pedometer is a good size, not too big nor too small and the buttons are on the front for changing the Mode, Resetting and to Set up the pedometer. The attachable the back is a simple press and it opens so that you are able to attach to your clothing. It is similar to a clothespin type of clip and very easy to use but also very secure. I’ve never had it belt down off or come untied while wearing it, so I’d say it is a pretty sturdy attachable.
My daughter has a problem with hearing hers click as the numbers change, but I haven’t noticed that with mine, except occasionally. I do know that if I move my foot a lot it calculates that as steps and is among the reasons I decided to purchase a more accurate pedometer. There are 2 cool things that I like of GoWalking by SportLine pedometer
1. Total number of steps–this one is fairly self-explanatory but it’s a handy reminder of how much I walked in a day
2. Total distance to 1/thousandth of a mile or kilometer (alas, being a work-shy walker, I still use miles). This are the alone feature repeated from my first gimmick. I just needed to measure my stride and place in the memory
I like the size and simple mindedness of this pedometer, but naturally as I’ve gotten increasingly serious about my steps, I’ve wanted better and better equipment. While I’ve only used this pedometer for a bit over a month I’ve felt as though it has done a effective job but have wanted a few more bells and whistles and am now wearing an Omron HJ-112 pedometer while wearing the GoWalking by SportLine and will probably retire my cute little red step checker soon.
This is a not bad newbie pedometer and one that if it breaks or gets lost isn’t expensive to replace, so although it isn’t totally precise I do feel it gives a good average estimate of the number of steps a person takes.
Foremost, this pedometer, Sportline GOWalking, has more features than my original one did. Those features include:
1 - Total kilogram calorie consumed–I love this one because it gives me a feeling of achievement. I plainly had to include my weight which I listed as 670 pounds to fool the pedometer into believing that I was using more kilogram calorie. That’s just a trick since I alone consider 232 (which constitutes all the same a bit much on my 6′4″ anatomy) and the device only allows capable 300 pounds to be entered.
2. GoWalking by SportLine Pedometer includes a clock. I found this odd but I guess it’s nice when you don’t have a watch while you’re walking
3. . An highly helpful book of instructions. Since I am not the most automatically minded human in the Earth, I was pleased that the book of instructions were concise and clear and allowed me to set up the pedometer in minutes.

I have a GOWALKING Pedometer by SPORTLINE.Please explain how to clear the settings. I have lost the instruction sheet. I want to start a zero for all setting excluding time of day.

All I am trying to find out is how to set steps on my Go Walking by Sportlne pedometer. I know how to calculate the step length but can’t find the instruction booklet.
At this point the pedometer is useless without instructions.
Can anyone direct me to a site or give me directions?
Thank you
I have lost the instruction book for my GOwalking pedometer made by sportline it is a 2003 model with three buttons for “reset” “set” and “mode”
the modes are step, distance, kcal, and clock.
any one tell me how to set stride.
Thanks.
Graham.
This sounds like a great pedometer to get for those that aren’t as “tech-savvy”.
For those that have lost their instruction books, try Googling the exact name of your pedometer (plus model number) with the keywords “instruction manual” or “instruction book”. If that doesn’t work try Googling the exact problem you have (i.e. “how to reset”). More than likely someone else has experienced the same problem and has posted a solution!
Try pressing and holding the Start button.
need small info is the liquid display have light on to show the information,so that I can get the info although I use it at the dark of the morning dawn ?
