Off late I observed my dearest sister gaining some extra weight after the birth of my sweet and cute niece. Even the doctors have asked her to engage in some physical activity to combat the increasing weight. Since she is into a sitting job, her less physical movement has caused her to gain more weight in the post pregnancy period. She finds the episode of going out in the morning quite boring and had ordered a treadmill at home to workout. But the enthusiasm of working in the treadmill soon faded away. I knew her interest and if something can tell her and appreciate her workouts, she would definitely do that! So I got for her a quite simple but effective tool. I bought her a Sportline 330 pedometer.

After a thorough research on the market I found this pedometer perfect for her needs. This has wonderful features which would meet her needs and get her an accurate calculation of calories burnt; distance walked and speeds of her workouts. The Sportline 330 pedometer counts the steps of your walk with high accuracy and is quite sensitive to vibration and other movements of the body. It has a tough clip that attaches to your belt or waistband. The pedometer has large easy to read display which can be accessed without spectacles too. Old fellows can find this as a convenient pedometer to read their progress without their specs!

This is an inexpensive but highly useful pedometer that is used for keeping you inspired for moving. The pedometer is available for $10.00. The single function of the pedometer is quite good. It counts steps of your walk and time covered. Getting such can help you find how much calorie you have burnt and what your progress everyday is. The reset button allows you to again set in zero. The pedometer has been tested by the University of Tennessee and has been found to be highly accurate.

This is a simple pedometer meant for simple calculations. The price bracket of the pedometer is really attractive and for bachelor unemployed fellows like us, spending $10 for a nice sister is not a big deal!

My eldest son is a great food buff and a lazy fellow. He only likes to remain stick in front of TV, video-game console, and gulp on whatever comes in front of him. At the age of 21 he has gained enough weight. According to the doctor if he doesn’t control his weight and reduce it immediately, it will create lot of problems to him. At first I thought of getting the weight loss pills, but learning the adverse consequences and failure rates, I found the advise of the doctor most promising. Now I have made a strict routine for him and if doesn’t stick to it, I would not listen to for anything. He now gets up at 6 o’clock in the morning and goes for one hour walking and jogging. To keep a record of your workout and calories burnt everyday I got him a pedometer. It is the Oregon Scientific PE316CA Pedometer.

Why the Oregon Scientific PE316CA Pedometer? There are no doubt lots of pedometers from other brands which are also good, but this pedometer has features and looks which suited my boy’s needs. This is first of all an affordable and high tech fitness tool which is packed with functions. The pedometer is very light and gives you feeling of carrying nothing at all. The light weight is good when you are exercising or jogging. The durability of the pedometer is also good. Once clicked to your waistband, there is no chance of it falling or slipping off.

My Pedometer Review of the Oregon Scientific PE316CA is that this Pedometer has a great computing power. It displays all the distance walked or run by the exerciser, the number of steps taken and amount of calories burnt from the daily workouts. All these displays along with the time of the day have backlight illumination for easy viewing even under scorch sunlight. The electronic pedometer runs on 2 LR44 batteries.

Though my son is a lazy fellow, but after I got him the Oregon Scientific PE316CA Pedometer, he found something interesting in it and has shown great interest in workouts. He loves the way the pedometer traces his records and provides him an accurate reading of your calories burnt.

You hunt for a good pedometer ends with the New Lifestyles NL-2000 pedometer. This has been rated as one of the most accurate pedometer of the times. The study was conducted by Crouter, Schneider and Bassett at the University of Tennessee to find out the accuracy rate of the pedometers. The pedometer could overcome as one of the most promising pedometers in regards to computing the exact calorie burnt, speed of workouts, distance walked and other features. The study conducted by the university found that the device is for every body and there are no complications in using it. Indeed the model has made it easier getting the accurate rates of walking and running. This is a perfect device to motivate obese and overweight individuals.

I too had gained overweight few months back. I was thinking the easiest step of popping some pills and getting rid the weight. But my doctor warned me of the consequences of pills and health hazards I may invite popping the pills. So, I had no alternate but to start with a daily fine regime of exercises of walking and jogging.

The walking and jogging was quite boring till I got hold of the latest New Lifestyles NL-2000. The placement and positioning this pedometer is quite easy and all you have to do is reset the program to start your walking and at the end of an hour count the calories burnt, speed of your walk and distance traveled. Such computing motivates you to take more challenging tasks in your workouts.

The New Lifestyles NL-2000 features are amazing and this lightweight pedometer is quite easy to use too. The pedometer is less sensitive to vibration and shakes which occur due to sitting or other movements. It is intelligent to detect the stride or jogging movements of your body to calculate the exact distance traveled. In three months I could find my tummy bowing down before my exercises and slowly moving inside. My fitness level too has improved with the pedometer and its inspirations. The pedometer counts your BMR, using all the information like your age, height, weight and gender. You can really burn a great amount of calories everyday with this new pedometer.

Pedometers can range in features from simply counting steps, to measuring your heart rate, or playing music. There are a few factors that you should take into account when looking for a pedometer. For me having a pedometer is a great way to help me to push me to walk more and excrise with a more strict routine.

As you may already know walking is a popular and easy form of exercise to improve both mental and physical health. Counts steps, counts aerobic steps, calories consumed, distance in miles, amount of fat burned, are keys things to understand how effective is the excerside we are doing.

Now a day pedometers can now count calories, record your pulse or calculate your speed. Additionally, pedometers have been incorporated into other devices such as phones and MP3 players. Pedometers are not yet at the same point as watches. Many pedometers aren’t even accurate counting steps in a controlled environment; some do as poorly as a 50% margin of error. Pedometers count most accurately when the wearer is walking at a moderate pace (3 miles per hour) or faster. People who naturally walk at slower speeds – the elderly or the injured, for exampleshould use a pedometer called an accelerometer, which is more accurate, but also more expensive..

So what kind of Pedometers we can find in the market now a days

A pedometer feels your body motion and counts your footsteps. This count is became into length along acknowledging the length of your usual stride. Eroding a pedometer and transcription your daily steps and length is a great propelling tool. You are able to wear a pedometer all day, day-after-day and record total steps. Or you’ll be able to wear it just when you go steady for a walking physical exercise.

Complex Pedometers; Multi-function Pedometers

All pedometers count steps, although they may use different methods to do so. These include (in general order of accuracy): piezo-electric accelerometers, a coiled spring mechanism, and a hairspring mechanism. Beyond showing the step total and/or calculating the distance, features abound. The pinnacle features are: kilogram calorie appraisals, clocks, timers, stopwatches and speed estimators, 7-day memory, heart rate readers

The easy Solution; Simple Step Counting Pedometers

The simplest pedometers only count your steps and display steps and/or distance. This is all you need to track to keep yourself motivated. Set a goal of distance or steps for every day. The recommended number of steps is 6000 for health, 10,000 for weight loss when you count all steps during the day. For weight loss, an uninterrupted walk daily of 4 thousands to 7 seven thousands steps is recommended. (I know it is quite a bit, but beliefe me, this is what really works)

Dealing Pedometer Accuracy

The current genesis of pedometers uses turned pendulum engineering, accelerometers, and/or electronics to count your steps. The unit should be accurate in its count when you wear it correctly – you may have to experiment with where to wear it. Distance accuracy depends on setting your stride length correctly.

How to Wear Your Pedometer? (A common question)

A pedometer should be well-fixed to wear all day and be held securely by its clip, an extra safety leash is almost required. The display should be easy to read without removing the unit from your waistband. It should be protected so that bumps don’t punch a button and reset the count. It should easy and nonrational to move between functions.

Pedometer walk-to Programs

Holding records of your steps and/or distance can keep you on track. You’ll be able to record your daily totals in any log, or get your pedometer and log through among the pedometer walking programmes offered. Our free Step Counters pedometer walking programme gives you daily email tips and motivation towards your step goal.

What is a walking Speedometers?

This are my favorite types of Pedometers where you are able to find all sort of pedometers from Timex, Garmin, and others true speedometers and mileometers that track your speed and distance continuously using general practitioner. Nike Pedometers uses an accelerometer to display continuous velocity and distance, but may need to be fine-tuned for walking vs. running.
